Camp Cypress, 497 km northwest of Sydney, and situated on 75 hectares of open woodland at the Baradine showground, is an ideal base from which to visit the nearby Pilliga Forest – a haven for an amazing variety of fauna, bird life and wildflowers.
Situated between the foothills of the Warrumbungle Mountains, the Great Western Plains and the vast forests of the Pilliga, the Baradine district, also known as the Gateway to the Pilliga, is fast becoming the bird watching mecca of NSW.
Species listed include the Glossy Black Cockatoo, Turquoise Parrot, Spotted Bowerbird, Grey-crowned Babbler, White-browed Babbler, Blue Bonnet Parrot, Red-winged Parrot, Red-rumped Parrot, Apostle Bird, and White-winged Chough. The West Pilliga is one of the greatest strongholds of the Barking Owl in NSW.
Located just 1.5 km from town services and facilities, cabins at Camp Cypress comfortably accommodate up to 90 guests. All rooms are ensuite with reverse cycle air conditioning.
