Little Desert Nature Lodge is a premium destination for travellers who have an interest in environmental education, ornithology, wildlife and landscapes. With over 220 species of bird recorded in the Little Desert National Park, the area is rapidly becoming one of Victoria’s favourite bird watching and wildlife hot spots!
The lodge is an environmental study centre with a 20 year background of research on the Malleefowl, an endangered genus of the mound building megapode. The property is owned by the Little Desert Flora and Fauna Foundation, a non-for-profit environmental foundation.
The Little Desert Nature Lodge offers various accommodation options, including ensuite rooms and powered campsites. There are several tours available, with experienced guides specialising in personalised bird and wildlife tours (pre-booking required) and other educational tours. Many self-guided walks are on offer from the property. Located midway between Melbourne and Adelaide only 16km south of the Western Highway.
