Sheoaks on Freycinet

Enjoy year round comfort in our architect designed and purpose built waterfront B & B above Great Oyster Bay. All rooms have sea views, en suites, comfy pillow topped beds and big fluffy towels. Seasonal Tasmanian produce is used to make delicious breakfasts. All other meals are available by arrangement, including a packed lunch if you are off on a long walk. We’re delighted to let everyone know that our new system means that free WiFi is now available throughout the guest wing, including in bedrooms.

Sheoaks guest sitting room houses a comprehensive nature library, field guides and a viewing scope. We can lend you a field guide to take on your walk. Ditto wildflower books. The sitting room is a great place to chat with your fellow guests over a cup of coffee and home made biscuits. The guest deck is the perfect spot from which to watch the sunset whilst enjoying a glass of local wine and oysters fresh from the bay, or perhaps a barbecue meal. Every now and again a sea eagle will glide by. Last night it was a flock of pelicans.

Sheoaks is only 200 metres down a cliff path to a beach where Hooded and Red-capped Plovers nest. Freycinet National Park and Moulting Lagoon Ramsar Site are nearby. For more birding information, including our own Freycinet Peninsula bird list, go to our website below, click on Activities on the menu bar, then on For Birders on the drop down menu. We are not experts but are learning all the time and are happy to share our local knowledge with guests.

As we update our own website, tariffs are always current.
